How much rent should I pay upfront and should I pay rent annually or monthly on a rent to rent?

Welcome to episode 10 of 'Ask The Angels' where we answer your rent to rent questions.

We’ve had a really good question here about paying rent to landlords or agents…
”I want to know, once we’ve secured a landlord, what are the expenses that would occur.

“For example, relating to deposit or how payments are made with the landlord so are you expected to pay the landlord annually.

“ For example, the benefit for the landlord is that they’re getting a secure rent for a period of time so is that based off ensuring that they have an annual rent?

“For example, if the annual rent is let’s say £8,000. Are you expected to pay that upfront or is it a monthly thing where the tenant will pay you and then you pay the landlord. I want to know if a large amount of capital would be required for me to start.”

This is a great question and an important thing to get right.
