Can I use my existing limited company for my new rent 2 rent business?
This weeks Ask The Angels question is from Annerose around whether as rent to renters, we are the landlord or the tenant.
Here’s Annerose's question...
"I just wanted to find out, I’ve got a registered company already, it was for a very different purpose than rent to rent. Would I be able to tweak the name to suit my rent to rent business? Or would I have to apply for a new company altogether?"
You may be able to use your existing business for rent to rent.
You can also change the name of your limited company and it's a simple process online. You can do it through Companies House which is straightforward and quick and costs £8.
Let's take a closer look at the process and checks you need to make first.
