How can I check whether my council will give me the HMO landlord list or HMO register?

Today’s question is from Caroline about obtaining  a HMO landlord list from her council.

Here’s Caroline's question...

“How can I check that my council has the policy to release local landlord details to enquirers? I am asking this question as everything I’ve seen and heard comes down to having access to the council landlord list and contacting estate agents"

This is a great question - and Caroline is talking about the HMO landlord list.

Some councils make it incredibly easy for you to get the information, whereas others will make it very difficult.

In this episode I will first take a step back and explain what Caroline's question means.
 
But in summary, every council including yours has a legal obligation to publish the list.
