Should I go full-time in rent to rent and ditch my job?

This weeks Ask The Angels question is from Michael and he wants some advice on taking on rent to rent full time.

Here’s Michael's question...

“I currently live and work in Dubai. I’m coming back to the UK soon. I have some savings. My plan is to buy a buy-to-let property and go full-time in rent to rent. Is this a good plan?”

This is a great question.
Often people are keen to ditch their job straight away.
What I love about rent to rent is you can do it alongside other work.
It can be a side-hustle before it becomes a full-time hustle.

So should you start rent to rent full-time?
Obviously it’s your choice.
There’s no right answer.

You want to buy a property too, and lenders will be looking for your income and credit score. A new business won’t cut it.

Having a permanent job will help you.

I know you’re planning to buy your buy-to-let with other members of your family.

Your first step is to talk to a broker about what income you’ll need, how long you’ll need to be employed here in the UK, whether your income from working overseas will be taken into account etc.

Once you have clarity on what is required from lenders you’ll know whether to work full-time or part-time and what level of salary you’ll want to attract.

But listen in to the full episode to hear more details on why I wouldn’t advise you to give up your job right now…
