Who’s responsible for court proceedings at the end of a rent to rent contract?

Welcome to episode 15 of 'Ask The Angels' where we answer your rent to rent questions.

We’ve had a really good question from Monika about who’s responsible for court proceedings at the end of a rent to rent contract…

”I am an owner of a lettings and estate agency.
I’ve come across your Podcast and YouTube Channel and wanted to ask you a question.
We recently had a client who has offered to do a rent to rent on a property we are currently managing for our client.
If a worst case scenario happened and we needed to end the agreement with the rent to rent company what would happen to the tenants already introduced by this company. They would be on AST so how would this work?
If the company let agreement finished with this company who would be responsible for possession. Who would take on all of the costs of the court proceedings if they are required. Would it be down to the rent to rent company or would it be down to us?”

This question shows as well that letting agents, like Monika, can see the benefit of working with rent to rent companies. It’s an interesting one and Stephanie answers it in this episode.
